An Introduction
One lifetime is not enough for Rome, let alone the rest of Italy.
Allora, it’s never too early to start dreaming up your next return. Or the one after that. And the one after that. If you’re anything like me — and I suspect this is an obsession many of us share — the first thing you do after an Italian escape is browse flights straight back to Il Bel Paese.
That’s exactly how My Next Trip to Italy was born: each time I returned home, I was already fantasizing about the next destination — and sometimes the next three. Every free moment is spent researching and designing itineraries for somewhere new, while simultaneously aching to return and dive even deeper into the place I’ve just left. As I type this, I have a solid five trips itching to be experienced (Sicily, Liguria, Veneto, Sardinia, and a return to Campania), all while fighting the temptation to explore even more — Umbria, Le Marche, Basilicata, the Tuscan coast… ai yai yai, it doesn’t end.
My hopes for this Substack are threefold: that you find inspiration and practical ideas to curate your own dream itineraries, that I experience the joy of sharing and learning alongside you, and that all these armchair itineraries manifest into cobblestone footwork.
Thank you for being here, for indulging my Italian obsession, and for letting Italy indulge us right back.
Andiamo!

Places to discover, one after the other, like cherries you just can’t stop eating. I love that.
To all the trips in Italy, to beauty, and to this new Substack! I’m already so excited to dive in! 🍒✨
